The latest fast casual export from Utah.  As with the other options (Cafe Rio, Cafe Zuppa, Rumbi) it is focused on providing families with large quantities of safe options for a cheap price. Nothing really stands out as exceptional but several sandwiches can serve in a pinch as suitable lunch options.

Great creative menu, good execution, and some of the best Benedict in town.  It also offers some of the heaviest meals you will eat before 10am so we recommend to not eat here prior to any important meetings or events.

The donut is the next venerable American staple to get the artisan twist and this place has some of the better offerings in the Valley. Still new and with a few 'beginners' kinks related to consistency to work through.

The place is reminiscent of the Hotel Valley Ho with its 'hipsterish' take on the mid-century modern look.  The menu has a fresh local approach to comfortable diner fare.  The dishes while somewhat original don't really fulfill the their promise.

What else can be said about the near unanimous preferred Phoenix spot for the perfectly presented breakfast?  Forget about the wait or drive and enjoy the how tasty a simple waffle can be when made the right way.

Straight out Brooklyn, Mission District, or even Austin comes the preferred home of the Phoenix hipster.  A very solid menu, patio and ambiance.  Conversely the parking situation and service leave a little to be desired.

The working man's breakfast hole that has been feeding locals cheaply  since long before many of us could identify Phoenix on the map.I also hear this place is a good place to get a burger, drinks, and some live music.

The 'Must Try'- Just bundle a bunch of breakfast together.  It will be fine and it will be under $10

Bertha's Café

The prices are beyond reasonable, the portions plentiful, and the food compares favorably to the other similar spots in East Phoenix such as Over Easy, LGO, and Acacia.  Be prepared to leave full.  I think Callaway ought to relinquish its trademark because when you depart you be thinking that his place should be called the home of the Big Bertha.
