A welcome fast casual and lower price point for the area.  The frantically fantastic owner and his staff aim to please with some very well executed fresh takes on the Hot Dog.  Do yourself a favor, imagine a Caribbean breeze, and sample the Colombian dog.

Tortilla Fish

The fish taco torch has been officially passed from Rubios.  Tough to find better seafood at this price.  Fresh and flavorful fish that can be dressed a variety of ways as well as a few other solid earth bound options.  Also, a friendly staff that works hard to ensure your experience is up to par.

Cafe Rio

Utah's culinary contribution to the world which means something overly sweet, cheap, and served in large portions.  A more tasty and less heralded lunch alternative to Chipotle.

Slightly smaller menu then the local "betos" type spot that you find in every town but with items that are about a half star above those offerings.  The kind of place you frequent after a night out with the guys.

A no frills, wrong part of town kind of place that simply serves some of the best fish and chips in town.  The best options are fried but they do offer a rather expansive seafood menu at some of the lowest prices you'll see around.

The donut is the next venerable American staple to get the artisan twist and this place has some of the better offerings in the Valley. Still new and with a few 'beginners' kinks related to consistency to work through.

Even though I can still hardly make out the difference between the majority of these dishes and what one encounters at the local Delhi Palace I do say that I love what these guys are doing with lentils and veggies!  The prices are splendid and this place could easily turn me into a 4 day a week vegetarian.  Three cheers for Injera!

For those moments when you don't need VPN certified, can't tolerate Dominoes, and just need something good and cheap for the family on a weekday night.

There's something wonderful and filling and comfortable about Pierogi's and this place is the proverbial candy store for those who are suckers for the dumpling concept.  Complete hole in the wall that closes at 6pm but the Ukranian family that own this place run a tight ship that is worth your patronage.

The Scottsdale Food Truck Caravan

It's Saturday night and you want Thai while she insists on something south of border.  Pretty common domestic dilemma, right? Why not try both?  The folks at the Food Truck Caravan make that possible every Saturday night in Oldtown Scottsdale.

The selection is wide and varies from week to week so there is no reason why you shouldn't this regular billing on your calendar.  Make sure to visit their website or Facebook page in order to get the current line up.  And if you're feeling super awesome go ahead and rent one of their luxury harem tents.

Tortas El Guero

Los Reyes gets all the Torta attention but El Guero is every bit as good with a slight edge for ambiance, service, and horchata. A few visits here and you will never consider a Subway sandwich again.
